Friday night was senior night at RFA Stadium. For the second week in a row RFA was involved in a high scoring affair. The Cougars forced RFA to punt on their first possession. They returned that punt to RFA's 13 yard line. From there they scored their 1st TD with the PAT the score was 7-0. After punting again the Black Knights recovered a Corcoran fumble. RFA drove the ball 78 yards in nine plays culminated with a Ryan Harris TD pass to Marco Dominic who was wide open in the end zone. RFA's two point conversation was ruled a fumble before the goal line was crossed making the score 7 – 6 Corcoran. The Cougars answered RFA right back on their next possession. On a forth and 3 from the 41 yard line Corcoran hit a slant over the middle for a TD. With the PAT the score was now 14 – 6. After another RFA punt Corcoran fumbled again at midfield as the half was running out. The Black Knights were unable to take advantage of the miscue and went into the locker room down 14 – 6. RFA came out on their first possession of the 2nd half unable to move the ball, after a three and out they were forced to punt to Corcoran. Corcoran proceeded to drive 80 yards for their 3rd TD. With the PAT the score was now 21-6. The Black Knights bounced right back with a Harris pass to Ryan Santos for the 37 yard TD pass. Santos booted the PAT through to bring the score to 21 – 13. The Cougars drove towards RFA's end zone again only to fumble once more. The Black Knight were able to get a few 1st downs with their backs to the end zone but had to punt the ball back to Corcoran to start the 4th quarter. The Cougars scored again on an eight yard run but missed the PAT. This made the score 27 -13. Showing no quit RFA drove the ball down to Corcoran's 10 where they stalled on a 4th and 1 play. From there Corcoran scored again on another long TD run. With the PAT they had their biggest lead of the game 34 – 13. The Black Knights from Rome would not lay down. RFA's QB Harris hit Dominic with a 24 yard TD pass, the PAT made the score 34 – 20. RFA's comeback attempt was hampered when Corcoran scored again on another long run for TD and PAT the score was now 40 – 20. Refusing to quit Rome's Black Knights came right back at the Cougars with another TD pass from Harris to Dominic. One last PAT brought the final to 40 – 27 Cougars. On the evening Harris was 18 of 27 passing for 264 yards. While Dominic lead the receivers with seven grabs for 146 yards. Santos added 3 catches for 74 yards. Kyle Kimball added 105 yards rushing on 23 carries. On the defensive side of the ball Rome was lead by Kal Campbell with 15 tackles and two forced fumbles, while Zach Ciccotti, Kyle Jones, and Zach Sjoblom each had nine tackles. Finally Shawn Carter chipped in with eight tackles and Mark Capponi had seven. Next week Rome hopes to finish the regular season with a win at Henninger.
